Meet the Teachers and Staff
I am a special educator teacher with five years of experience. I previously worked at Cleveland State University, while completing my undergraduate and graduate programs. Aside from my license in mild to moderate disabilities, I maintain endorsements in reading, educational technology, career based intervention, and transition to work.
Rosalind Marie Moore is the Schools Office Manager/Enrollment Specialist who works under the guidance of the Administrator, Crystal Garmon. Rosalind is responsible for the enrollment application process, including handling sensitive documents such as student records. Rosalind acts as a liaison between student, parents and the administrator.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to continuously grow as an educator learning how to better myself so that I can teach my students how to bring the best out of themselves. From teaching preschool through high school, I love watching my students succeed, whether at school or in life.
I was born in South Carolina, raised in Massachusetts and went to college in Detroit, Michigan. My degree is in Chemistry and Math. I am married with 2 children, both who have graduated from college. I have taught for over 15 years. I love working with second chance students, seeing them see the results of their hard work pay off. I also love to travel, read, cook and hike.
Married with 2 children, 5 grandchildren. I have been teaching Social Studies for 13 years. I enjoy reading books of any kind; fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, mysteries you name it.
Valerie Overton Howard is the Community Engagement Specialist for Life Skills High School, motivational speaker, community leader, poet, author and entrepreneur.
Kathy will tell you it's not about reaching the goal, it's about the fun you have along the way. Her favorite line is " life ain't worth living unless you're laughing", and hers comes deep from within.
